Great Culture and Learning Opportunities in FinTech!
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer at Payoneer, a global FinTech company, has been a positive experience. The company culture in our New York office is very supportive and collaborative. I've valued the learning opportunities and the chance to contribute to meaningful payment solutions. There's a strong team spirit here.
Cons: The internal promotion process for engineering roles can sometimes feel a bit slow, and it's not always clear what's needed for advancement. Also, occasional project deadlines mean some busy periods, impacting work-life balance briefly.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering the strong company culture. Consider clarifying and streamlining the internal promotion process for engineering roles to better support career growth and retain talent.

Leadership has good intentions, execution is mixed
Pros: Some individual team leads are actually pretty supportive. They've got your back on day-to-day stuff. For a large fintech company, there's decent autonomy within smaller engineering teams. The hybrid work model is a nice perk, offering some flexibility from the Tel Aviv office.
Cons: Higher-level leadership often seems disconnected from the reality of development. Decisions can feel pretty arbitrary. There's a lack of clear strategic vision from the top, which impacts project direction. It's tough as a Software Engineer when priorities shift constantly. Communication from management about company-wide changes could definitely be better.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating a more unified and transparent strategic vision. Improve communication channels from senior leadership down to the engineering teams to avoid constant priority shifts. Listen more to feedback from those on the ground.

Pay's okay, but benefits could improve
Pros: As a Senior Software Engineer here, the base salary is pretty solid for fintech in the New York City office. I've always gotten a decent year-end bonus too, which is a nice perk. The 401k match isn't bad either, helps a bit.
Cons: Healthcare plans aren't the best; you're paying a lot out-of-pocket for a mid-tier plan. I've heard our competitors offer better equity options for similar roles. Don't expect huge raises unless you change roles entirely.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the health insurance offerings; it's a big deal for employees. Also, re-evaluate equity compensation for tenured employees in core fintech roles.
