Decent Work-Life, But Expect Onsite Hours
Pros: The standard 40-hour work week is generally respected, which is good for family time. I rarely had to bring work home as a Manufacturing Engineer. The benefits package is solid for a large corporate employer.
Cons: Work-life balance here is pretty rigid due to the onsite nature of industrial manufacturing. There's not much remote work for engineers, even when feasible. Overtime occasionally happens, especially with big projects, and it's not always well compensated for salaried roles.
Advice to Management: Consider more flexible work arrangements for roles that don't strictly require constant physical presence on the factory floor, especially for engineering roles. This could really improve morale and retention.

Solid place for manufacturing, but culture needs work
Pros: The job security is solid here; it's a big, established company in the industrial sector. They've got decent benefits, and you're working with quality welding equipment which is cool. I felt supported by my direct team members.
Cons: The company culture feels pretty old-school and a bit rigid. There's not much push for innovation from the top, and it can be tough to get new ideas heard, especially as a younger Manufacturing Engineer. Work-life balance can suffer with sudden demands, even with an onsite role in Cleveland, Ohio.
Advice to Management: Try to embrace more modern approaches and listen to your employees, especially in R&D and engineering roles. Fostering a more open culture could really boost morale and innovation across the company.

Decent Benefits, But Career Growth Lags
Pros: The benefits package is really good, especially the health insurance. It's a stable job, and you typically get consistent 40-hour workweeks onsite. As an established company in the industrial sector, job security felt pretty solid.
Cons: Career growth for a Manufacturing Engineer here isn't great. It feels like there's a definite ceiling, and internal promotions are tough to come by. There aren't many opportunities to move up or cross-train into new areas.
Advice to Management: Invest more in career development programs and create clearer paths for advancement, especially for engineers in manufacturing.

Pay's Fine, Benefits Are Decent
Pros: They offer solid health insurance plans. The 401k match is pretty good too. For a large corporate manufacturing company, the long-term benefits are definitely a plus. It feels stable here.
Cons: Base salary for a Manufacturing Engineer can be lower than average. Raises are tough to get, and they're usually small. It's hard to feel like you're climbing financially in this industrial environment.
Advice to Management: Rethink the base salary structure, especially for engineering positions. Being more competitive would really help attract and retain skilled people in the Cleveland market.

Flexibility is okay, but it could be better
Pros: For a big corporate manufacturing company, they do offer some hybrid work options for certain technical roles like mine. It's nice not being in the Cleveland office every single day, which helps with commute and personal appointments. The teams are pretty understanding if you need to adjust hours occasionally.
Cons: Work flexibility here is definitely a mixed bag. As a Manufacturing Engineer, there's a strong expectation for onsite work, especially with production schedules. Remote work is rare for most of the engineering team, making it tough to truly integrate a flexible schedule into daily operations.
Advice to Management: Consider more formal hybrid policies for engineering roles that don't require constant shop floor presence. This could really help with retention and attract new talent in the industrial equipment sector.

Solid place for career, good job security.
Pros: I've felt pretty secure as a Manufacturing Engineer here. Lincoln Electric's long history in the welding equipment industry means stable demand. It's a solid, big corporate company, which is good for job security.
Cons: Things move pretty slow sometimes. Don't expect super fast career growth, especially for engineering roles. It's an old-school industrial sector company, so innovation can feel sluggish.
Advice to Management: Keep investing in modernization to stay competitive in the welding equipment space. Also, try to speed up internal project approvals for us engineers.

Good Work-Life for Onsite Roles in Cleveland
Pros: As a Welding Technician, I generally had good work-life balance here. It's pretty consistent with 40-hour work weeks for most of the year, which is great for onsite production roles. This makes it easier to plan things outside of work in the fabrication industry.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't really a thing if you're in manufacturing operations. You're expected to be there, and sometimes weekend shifts pop up. Career progression for an hourly position can feel pretty slow, too.
Advice to Management: Offer more paths for career progression and consider modernizing some policies for work flexibility where possible, especially in non-production roles.
