Solid Work-Life for Account Managers Here
Pros: I've had pretty consistent 45-hour weeks in my Account Manager role, which isn't bad for sales. The hybrid work model helps a lot with balancing personal life, letting me work from home a couple of days.
Cons: There's definitely pressure to hit sales targets in the medical supplies industry, and that can sometimes creep into evenings or weekends. Travel can also be a bit much, especially around quarter-end, eating into personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to reduce the pressure on sales teams during peak periods to truly support a good work-life balance for all, not just for the corporate office.

Pay is Okay, Benefits Need Work
Pros: As an Account Manager, I've had a solid base salary for my sales role. The 401k matching is pretty standard and a good perk. It's a big, stable company in the medical supplies industry, so there's good job security.
Cons: Healthcare costs are really high for employees in the Northfield, IL office. It eats into your take-home pay quite a bit. Raises aren't super generous either, which is tough when benefits are expensive.
Advice to Management: Look into better healthcare plans to reduce employee out-of-pocket costs. Competitive benefits are key to attracting and retaining talent, especially in a large corporate setting like ours.

Growth is slow, you really have to push it
Pros: It's a big corporate company so there's a lot to learn about the medical supply industry. You can find good mentors if you actively look for them. They do offer internal training and development programs occasionally, which helps for skills in the healthcare distribution space.
Cons: Career growth here for Associate Product Manager roles feels pretty slow. There's just not a super clear path to move up, especially in the Northfield, IL office. You really have to fight for promotions yourself, and it's tough to stand out sometimes.
Advice to Management: Create more transparent career ladders for product roles. Make internal mobility easier to understand and access, not just something you stumble into. Help managers actively guide their teams towards growth opportunities.
