Okay Work-Life, Could Be Better for Compliance
Pros: They do offer some flexibility with a hybrid model, which is nice. For a mid-size firm, the pay is pretty solid, especially for compliance roles in NYC. You can mostly keep regular 40-hour weeks if you're good at managing your tasks.
Cons: When deadlines hit, especially for regulatory filings, work-life balance totally goes out the window. Expect late nights. Sometimes you're just drowning in new regulatory requirements with little support from leadership.
Advice to Management: Managers need to be more realistic about workloads when new regulatory requirements come in. Maybe hire more staff to ease the burden on Compliance Analysts.

Hybrid Model is Decent for Junior Roles
Pros: The hybrid model is okay for most of us in Compliance Analyst roles. You usually get a couple of days to work from home, which helps avoid the New York, NY commute. There's some wiggle room with start times if you need it.
Cons: True work-from-home (WFH) flexibility isn't really a thing here; it's more fixed hybrid. It's tough if you want full remote work. Senior compliance roles have even less flexibility, which can be a bummer.
Advice to Management: Consider more flexible WFH options, especially for long-term employees. Trust your teams more.

Okay for compliance, but culture is a bit flat
Pros: The training on new regulatory frameworks is really solid. I've learned tons as a Compliance Analyst, which is great for career growth in risk management. The WFH setup is decent too.
Cons: Company culture feels pretty corporate and lacks real team spirit. It's tough to build connections; people just do their work and log off. There aren't many social events or chances to connect, even remotely.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more community, even for remote teams. Small virtual events or team-building could help boost morale and connections.
