Hybrid Policy Needs More Consistency
Pros: The company officially supports a hybrid model, which is decent. As a Software Engineer, I could usually work from home 2-3 days a week, which helped with commute times in Seattle. If you have a good manager, you can sometimes adjust your daily schedule for personal appointments.
Cons: The 'hybrid' policy really depends on your team and manager. Some teams in the software development department are pretty much full-time onsite, which isn't great if you were hoping for more remote work. There's not much room for fully remote positions, making it less flexible than some other mid-sized tech companies.
Advice to Management: Please standardize the hybrid work policy across all teams. It's frustrating when some teams are more flexible than others, especially in engineering roles. Clearer communication about expectations would help.

Okay Pay, Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is pretty decent, especially if you're coming in with some experience. I've found it's competitive with other mid-size tech companies in the San Francisco, CA area for similar roles. Health insurance options are okay, nothing amazing but they cover the basics.
Cons: However, the annual raises are super slow, almost negligible, which is tough in this economy. Don't expect huge bonuses or much in terms of stock options, which is a letdown for a tech industry role. It feels like they're just doing the bare minimum sometimes.
Advice to Management: Review the compensation structure, especially annual raises and equity grants. For a mid-size tech company in San Francisco, competitive total compensation is key to retaining talent in this market.

Culture is okay, but team dependent.
Pros: My dev team was pretty supportive for a junior software engineer. People are generally friendly in the Austin, TX office. It's a pretty relaxed environment, not super corporate.
Cons: The company culture feels a bit disjointed between different departments. There's not a strong sense of company-wide connection, especially for remote workers. Sometimes leadership seems out of touch with day-to-day team challenges for those in software development.
Advice to Management: Try to create more company-wide initiatives for team building. Bridging the gap between remote and in-office employees would really help improve overall connection.
