Pay Is Decent, But Benefits Need Work
Pros: For a large corporate company in the chemical industry, the 401k match is actually pretty solid. As a Process Engineer, my base salary in the St. Louis office was competitive when I started, which was a nice perk.
Cons: Annual raises don't really keep up with inflation, which is tough. Healthcare premiums are pretty high, and the deductibles aren't great. Don't expect much in terms of performance bonuses; they're usually minimal.
Advice to Management: Management should re-evaluate the annual raise structure to better reflect market changes and look into more affordable healthcare plans. It would really help with employee retention, especially for the engineers on site.

Pay is Okay, Benefits Need Work
Pros: As a Process Engineer in the St. Louis, MO office, the base salary is pretty competitive for someone starting out in chemical manufacturing. They've got a decent 401k match, which is a solid perk for long-term planning.
Cons: But man, the health insurance premiums are really high, it eats into your take-home pay. And honestly, the dental coverage isn't great. Raises each year are usually just cost-of-living, not much more.
Advice to Management: Look into better health insurance options for employees. Annual raises need to keep up with inflation better, especially for core roles in the manufacturing plant.
