Solid mission, but startup culture has kinks
Pros: I've really enjoyed the people here; everyone's genuinely committed to the femtech mission. The remote work flexibility is a major plus, letting me balance personal life effectively. It's a collaborative environment for a digital health app.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit chaotic sometimes. There's not always clear direction from leadership, which impacts how quickly product initiatives move. For a startup environment, the pace of change can be tough on team morale.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more consistent strategic direction. Improve communication channels to reduce confusion, especially for remote teams.

Remote Work is Fine, Workload is Tricky
Pros: The work flexibility is a big plus here. I enjoyed being able to work remote from Berlin for a good chunk of the week, which is great for a health tech company. It's a pretty open culture for a startup.
Cons: Work-life balance isn't always great, especially as a Software Engineer. There's a lot of pressure during sprint cycles, and you often find yourself working longer than 40 hour weeks. Sometimes it feels like they expect 24/7 availability.
Advice to Management: Really look at the workload distribution, especially for the core engineering team. Burnout is a real concern if sprint planning doesn't improve.

Decent for a health tech startup, but prepare for sprints.
Pros: You get decent flexibility for personal appointments, which is great. They're pretty supportive of hybrid work in the Berlin office. As a Software Engineer, I felt I could generally manage my hours and avoid burnout.
Cons: During major sprint cycles or releases for the mobile app, things get pretty intense. It's not uncommon to put in extra hours to hit those deadlines. Sometimes, the expectations for a femtech startup can feel a bit overwhelming.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project scope better to prevent crunch times for the engineering teams. Consistency in expectations across different teams would also really help.
