Okay Stability, Slow Career Path
Pros: The job security for operations roles is pretty solid, which is a big plus in the transportation sector. You learn a lot about how public transit operates day-to-day. The team in the Washington D.C. office was generally good to work with.
Cons: Career growth here is definitely a challenge as an Operations Coordinator. There aren't many clear promotion paths, and internal advancement often feels like it's based on who you know. I felt a bit stuck after a couple of years, despite the critical onsite work we do.
Advice to Management: Create clearer pathways for career advancement and invest more in training programs for current employees. Recognize the efforts of frontline staff and offer opportunities to move up.
