Decent enough work-life balance for production roles
Pros: The hybrid model helps a lot, letting me split my time between home and the Lititz, PA office. As a Project Manager, I appreciate having some flexibility to manage personal appointments when I'm not directly involved in onsite live events production. It's not always 40-hour weeks, but it's manageable most of the time.
Cons: Peak season for entertainment technology projects can be pretty brutal; long days and sometimes weekend work are expected for installations. It's tough to truly disconnect when you're responsible for big projects. Sometimes I feel like I'm always 'on call' even after hours.
Advice to Management: Try to staff up more during peak seasons to ease the burden on individual Project Managers. Also, encouraging more mandatory disconnect time, even just a few hours a week, would be great for employee well-being.

Hybrid works okay for Project Engineers
Pros: The hybrid model is a solid perk, especially for Project Engineer roles. You get some WFH days, which is nice. This flexibility really helps balance things in the demanding live event production industry.
Cons: It's not always true flexibility, though. When deadlines hit, you're working long hours, even from home. On-site requirements for show control systems also limit real remote options.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for better work-life balance during peak production cycles. More clear boundaries on 'flexibility' would help.

Flexibility Is Tough for Engineers Onsite
Pros: The projects in live event production are seriously epic. You get to work with some brilliant engineers on complex stage automation systems. The learning curve is steep but rewarding, and the team is generally very supportive.
Cons: Work flexibility is pretty limited for most hands-on roles like mine. There aren't many remote options, even for desk work, so you're mostly tied to the Lititz, PA office. Travel is heavy and often unpredictable.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more hybrid work options for roles that don't always need to be onsite. Trust your teams more with managing their own time when possible. It would really help with employee retention, especially for the engineers.
