Good pay, great learning in EV manufacturing.
Pros: Working as a Production Associate at Tesla in Fremont is great for hands-on learning in EV manufacturing. The pay and health benefits are competitive for the automotive industry, making it a good place for financial stability. You really feel like you're contributing to something big.
Cons: The pace is incredibly fast, especially during production ramp-ups, which means work-life balance can be a challenge. While there are learning opportunities, career advancement isn't always clearly structured or quick.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer pathways for career advancement and explore ways to mitigate burnout during peak production periods. Improving internal communication across shifts could also be beneficial.

Decent Pay, But Stock is a Gamble Here
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the base salary is pretty solid. We get decent medical benefits, which is a definite plus. Working on cutting-edge EV manufacturing can feel rewarding.
Cons: The stock options are a huge part of total comp, but they're super volatile. Base pay isn't as high as some other big tech companies for similar roles. Cost of living in Fremont, CA makes it feel less competitive sometimes.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate base salaries to be more competitive with other big tech firms in the Bay Area. Make stock options more of a bonus, not the primary driver of total compensation. Better communication on stock refreshers would help too.

Tough but exciting if you're all in.
Pros: It's super cool working on cutting-edge tech in EV manufacturing. You learn a ton really fast here, especially as a Software Engineer. The team in the Austin, TX office is really smart and passionate about the mission.
Cons: Work-life balance here is pretty tough. Expect long hours, often 50-60 hour weeks, especially with product launches. There's not much work flexibility; it's definitely an onsite culture, which can burn you out quickly.
Advice to Management: Leadership needs to really rethink the expectations for individual contributors. We need more realistic deadlines and support for work-life balance to prevent burnout. More focus on employee well-being would help retention.
