About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this senior role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of Snapfix across multiple platforms, including native iOS, native Android, and web. Your primary focus will be on unifying these experiences into a seamless, high-quality cross-platform product that delights users and enhances operational efficiency. This position requires a product-minded individual who values usability, aesthetic quality, and performance, and who is comfortable navigating practical engineering trade-offs. Our technology stack is flexible, and what matters most is your ability to build robust, user-friendly solutions using the most suitable tools available.
This role is deeply integrated with AI technologies, which are embedded into our daily development practices. From code generation and testing to design iteration and productivity enhancements, AI is a core component of our workflow. You will be expected to utilize AI tools effectively and pragmatically to accelerate development cycles without compromising quality. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with our existing iOS, Android, and Web engineering teams to promote best practices, share knowledge, and align on technical and product strategies, fostering a unified and innovative development environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in frontend development, mobile applications, or cross-platform solutions. You should have proven expertise with at least one cross-platform technology such as React Native, Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, or similar frameworks. A strong foundation in frontend fundamentals—including UI architecture, state management, component design, performance optimization, accessibility, and testing—is essential. You must demonstrate a track record of creating polished, user-centric interfaces that balance technical correctness with aesthetic appeal.
Comfort with working across mobile and web platforms, understanding platform-specific constraints, and collaborating with designers and product managers from conceptualization to launch are critical. Experience integrating with backend APIs, managing authentication, offline capabilities, and asynchronous data flows is also necessary. Additionally, proficiency in leveraging AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation will be highly valuable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work asynchronously across different time zones are important for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Shape our cross-platform frontend: Lead efforts to unify native iOS, native Android, and web experiences into a cohesive technical and user experience foundation.
- Build user-loved product experiences: Design and implement fast, intuitive, and visually appealing interfaces that perform reliably across various devices and platforms.
- Select pragmatic technologies: Evaluate and adopt suitable cross-platform frameworks and approaches, balancing trade-offs to optimize performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with platform teams: Work closely with iOS, Android, and Web engineers to align architecture, share best practices, and ensure seamless integration without disrupting existing functionalities.
- Leverage AI in development: Incorporate AI tools throughout the development lifecycle, including coding, prototyping, testing, refactoring, and design exploration to enhance productivity and quality.
- Enhance frontend quality: Drive improvements in performance, reliability, accessibility, security, and maintainability of the frontend stack, ensuring high standards are met.
- Partner with product and design teams: Translate customer needs into practical, high-adoption solutions through close collaboration with product managers and designers.
- Provide technical leadership: Lead project initiatives, break down complex scopes, mentor junior engineers, and establish standards for frontend architecture and quality.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication: Maintain clear and effective communication across dispersed teams, ensuring alignment on goals, progress, and challenges.
