About the Role
We are looking for a Purview Data Engineer to support data governance, compliance, and metadata management initiatives for a healthcare industry client. This onsite role in BGC, Taguig, working on US time zone hours, will focus on implementing and optimizing Microsoft Purview while collaborating closely with data, cloud, and security teams
.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain Microsoft Purview capabilities including data cataloging, classification, lineage, and governance workflows.
- Integrate Purview with Azure and on-premises data sources to improve metadata accuracy and discoverability
- Define and enforce data governance policies, access controls, and compliance requirements
- Support data engineering tasks such as data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline optimization
- Collaborate with IT Security, Cloud, and Data teams to ensure proper data stewardship and lineage tracking
- Monitor Purview performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement
- Onboard new datasets and ensure metadata is properly captured and maintained
- Create clear technical documentation related to governance processes and data flows
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview (Data Catalog, Data Map, Classifications, Lineage)
- Strong knowledge of Azure data services (Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, Synapse, etc.)
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, or data security frameworks
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data engineering best practices
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, RBAC, and security practices
- Good understanding of data privacy and compliance standards
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in IT Security, Cloud Support, or Data Governance roles
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer or Azure Security Engineer)
- Scripting experience (Python or PowerShell)
