Duties
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) Developer to design, implement, and enhance our SAM capabilities within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ServiceNow development, strong understanding of SAM Pro licensing models, and hands-on experience in optimizing software asset lifecycle processes to drive compliance and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and develop ServiceNow SAM Pro modules, including publisher packs, reconciliation rules, normalization, and license metrics.
- Implement and maintain SAM processes such as software discovery, entitlement management, normalization, reconciliation, and remediation.
- Customize and extend ServiceNow applications using server-side and client-side scripting (Glide, JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts, etc.).
- Integrate ServiceNow SAM Pro with third-party data sources (e.g., SCCM, Flexera, BigFix, JAMF, etc.) and maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure SAM processes align with organizational compliance goals.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs for software compliance, usage, and optimization.
- Support governance and audit activities by ensuring accurate entitlement, reconciliation, and compliance data.
- Stay up to date with ServiceNow platform upgrades, new SAM Pro features, and best practices.
Skills
- 7–8 years of overall IT experience with at least 5+ years in ServiceNow development.
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro).
- In-depth understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, etc.).
- Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (Glide API, JavaScript, Jelly, AngularJS optional).
- Experience with integration tools (MID Server, REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub).
- Solid understanding of CMDB, Discovery, and IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes.
- Strong knowledge of Normalization, Reconciliation, Entitlement, and Remediation within SAM Pro.
- Experience in implementing Publisher Packs and Software Models Lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
Education
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM).
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification.
- Exposure to Hardware Asset Management (HAM Pro) is a plus.
- Experience working in a global enterprise environment.
