About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Welding Engineer to support manufacturing operations through the development, optimization, and control of welding processes. The role is responsible for ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and compliance with engineering and customer requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge in welding processes, metallurgy, and manufacturing engineering, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize welding processes to improve quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain welding procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Conduct process validation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for welding-related issues.
- Monitor and improve welding quality standards to ensure compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support new product introduction and process improvements.
- Evaluate welding parameters and recommend process enhancements to improve yield and reduce defects.
- Support equipment qualification, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting of welding systems.
- Analyze manufacturing data and generate reports on process performance and quality metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related disciplines.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in Welding Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes such as GTAW (TIG Welding); experience in brazing, laser welding, or electron beam welding is an advantage.
- Knowledge of welding metallurgy, stainless steel materials, and joining technologies.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or precision engineering environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with process validation, root cause analysis, FMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and engineering documentation.
