The Accounting Head is responsible for overseeing the entire accounting function of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with government regulations, and effective management of project-based accounting in a construction environment.
- Financial Management
- Oversee general accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, Payroll, Treasury)
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor the company's cash flow per project and financial health
- Construction / Project Accounting
- Manage project costing and budget monitoring
- Oversee progress billings, retention, and revenue recognition
- Ensure accurate cost allocation per project
- Coordinate with the project engineers and site teams
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with BIR tax filing (VAT, EWT, etc), SEC, and LGU requirements
- Oversee tax filings and audits
- Budgeting & Controls
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting
- Implement internal controls and cost management strategies
- Identify financial risks and recommend solutions
- Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise accounting staff (Accountants, Payroll, AP/AR)
- Review team output and ensure deadlines are met
- Provide training and performance management
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and taxation
