The
PLC Programmer/
Field Process Engineer is responsible for the development, programming, testing, and implementation of automated systems and manufacturing processes using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This role requires hands-on engagement with various machinery and control systems, combining technical programming skills with fieldwork. The position involves moderate travel to oversee system installation, testing, and commissioning on-site.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming and System Integration
- Design, configure, and implement PLC-based automation systems using software such as Rockwell Studio 5000.
- Program control systems using ladder logic or similar languages to meet operational specifications.
- Ensure integration between control systems and mechanical or electrical components.
Schematic Design and Analysis
- Create and review electrical and control schematics, including logic flow diagrams.
- Assess and verify the manufacturability, functionality, and reliability of designs.
Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare technical documentation including program details, operation manuals, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date records for system processes, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
System Testing and Validation
- Establish test procedures and perform detailed testing of automation programs.
- Evaluate system performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Installation and Commissioning
- Supervise the installation and deployment of automation systems at client or production sites.
- Support technicians during setup and provide training on program usage and maintenance.
Ongoing Technical Support
- Deliver technical assistance for program troubleshooting, updates, and enhancements.
- Monitor system performance and implement continuous improvements to enhance productivity and reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide technical expertise to other departments such as Sales, Operations, and Management.
- Assist in developing technical content for proposals, reports, and presentations as needed.
Willingness to Travel
- The Field Process Engineer must be available to travel to all One-Off office locations (Italy, USA, Mexico, and the Philippines) as well as to end-customer sites worldwide.
Other Tasks
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time as required by the role or management.
Experience In Some Of The Below Tools Is Appreciated
- PLC programming of the main brands
(Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, Schneider, Beckhoff, Codesys, Allen Bradley)
- Development of HMI and SCADA interfaces
(WinCC Flexible, WinCC SCADA, TIA Portal, Factory Talk View, Citect SCADA, InTouch Wonderware, Movicon, Simatic Pro-tool)
- Inverter and servo controller programming for brushless motor applications
(Sinamics Starter, Simotion Scout, SEW Motion Studio, Kinetix, Control Techniques)
- Fieldbus and communication protocols
(PROFIBUS DP, PROFIBUS PA, PROFINET, CAN, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP)
Job Requirements
- A Bachelors degree in the following subject is appreciated: (Electrical engineering, Automation engineering, Automation engineering, & Computer Science, Computing)
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience
- With Active Passport
