Solid entry, but career growth stalls
Pros: You get solid benefits for a big corporate company. It's a good spot to learn about the food ingredients industry, especially as a new Food Scientist. The job itself feels pretty secure.
Cons: Career growth is really tough in the Bridgewater, NJ office. It feels like R&D roles just don't move up fast. You can feel stuck after a few years with no clear path.

Decent pay, but benefits could improve here
Pros: The pay is pretty solid for a global corporate company like Ingredion. As a Process Engineer in the food science industry, my base salary was competitive. The 401k matching program is pretty generous, definitely a plus.
Cons: Health insurance premiums are kinda high, especially for family plans. Don't expect much in terms of bonuses or yearly raises; they're usually small. Work-life balance can get tough, so you might not always feel like the pay makes up for it.
Advice to Management: Look into reducing health insurance costs for employees, especially those with families. Also, consider more transparent and meaningful annual bonus structures to boost morale and retention across all departments, not just top leadership.

Solid start, tough for real career growth
Pros: I've learned a ton as an R&D Scientist, especially with ingredient formulation and process development in the food ingredients industry. The benefits are decent, and they have a good 401k matching plan, which is nice for a corporate environment.
Cons: Career growth at Ingredion is pretty slow. There's not a clear path for advancement, even after a few years in the Chicago office. It feels like you hit a ceiling fast, and getting promoted is tough because openings are rare.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career paths and invest more in internal promotions. It would help a lot with retention.
