Decent Work-Life Balance, But Watch Out
Pros: As a Process Engineer in the pulp and paper industry, my work-life balance wasn't too bad most days. Standard 40-hour weeks are common, which is nice. There's usually time for personal stuff after hours.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines in cellulose production can get pretty intense, leading to longer days. It's tough when you're on call or have unexpected issues at the manufacturing environment. Weekend work isn't unheard of, especially in the São Paulo facility.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project timelines and staffing levels to reduce the need for overtime, especially for essential roles like Process Engineers. This would help a lot with employee morale and reduce burnout.

Solid Job Security, Typical Corporate Environment
Pros: As a Process Engineer, I've always felt pretty secure in my role. Bracell is a big player in the pulp and paper industry, which gives a solid sense of stability. It's nice not to worry constantly about layoffs like in some other sectors.
Cons: Career growth for engineering roles can feel really slow here. It's a huge corporate structure, so getting promotions takes a long time and the internal mobility isn't great. Sometimes it feels like you're just a cog in a big machine.
Advice to Management: Try to create more transparent and faster career development paths, especially for experienced technical staff. It would really boost morale and help retain talent in critical engineering and operations roles.
