Solid Work-Life, Especially for Engineers
Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge plus; having WFH days really helps balance personal life with work in the data storage industry. As a Software Engineer, I generally stuck to a 40-hour week. My team was pretty flexible too if I needed an extra hour here or there.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines can still get tight, especially close to product launches, which can push hours. There's not always a clear path for quick promotions, so career growth can feel a bit slow for some technical roles.
Advice to Management: Try to better define career progression for individual contributors. It would help retention and motivation across the board.

Solid WLB for Engineers, but depends on team
Pros: Work-life balance is generally good here. Most weeks are pretty standard 40 hours, which is great for a big tech corporate environment. As a Test Engineer, I rarely had to work weekends. The company also offers decent PTO.
Cons: It's not always consistent across all teams. Some departments, especially those closer to product launches for new hard drives, seem to get swamped. There's not a ton of flexibility on daily start/end times either, even in the Shakopee, MN office.
Advice to Management: Try to ensure work-life balance is consistently good across all teams, not just some. Recognize and reward teams that manage their workload effectively instead of constantly pushing for more.

Solid place, but leadership has issues.
Pros: I liked working on real data storage solutions. The pay for my role was competitive, definitely decent for the Longmont, CO area. Also, the hybrid model was pretty flexible, which helped a lot with my work-life balance.
Cons: Leadership in the big tech corporate structure can be tough. There's a lot of bureaucracy, which slows things down. Sometimes, management decisions don't make much sense for the engineering teams.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the ground-level engineering teams. Improve communication between different management layers. Cut down on the red tape in the corporate environment.
