Remote Work Experience: Culture is Just Okay
Pros: I really liked my direct team. Everyone was helpful, especially in navigating the different Microsoft 365 cloud solutions we worked on. For a fully remote setup, we did a decent job connecting.
Cons: The broader company culture felt a bit disconnected. It's tough to build strong bonds when you're not onsite, and there wasn't much effort beyond team level. Sometimes felt like just another cog in a big tech machine.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more cross-team engagement and recognition for remote employees. It'd help a lot with retention and feeling valued in this large corporate environment.

Decent Flexibility for Hybrid Customer Success
Pros: As a Customer Success Manager, the hybrid work model is pretty solid. I appreciated the WFH options, especially when dealing with client calls across different time zones. It's a definite plus for maintaining some work-life balance in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Cons: Sometimes, even with the hybrid setup, team meetings are scheduled without considering everyone's in-office days. This can make the work flexibility feel less impactful for specific SaaS industry roles when you're remote. There isn't much flexibility in core hours.
Advice to Management: Try to optimize meeting schedules for hybrid teams, especially when some people are in the Jersey City office and others are remote. More thought into core hours for global teams would really help.

Okay for a Start, Hard to Grow Later
Pros: As a Technical Consultant, you get a solid intro to Microsoft 365 and data migration. It's a good place to learn the ropes of cloud solutions. The initial training is decent for getting started in this corporate environment.
Cons: But career growth kinda stalls after a bit. There's no clear path for moving up, especially for mid-level roles. Promotions are rare, and there isn't much professional development offered to climb higher.
Advice to Management: Management should really invest in clear career paths and more internal development programs. It would help retain talent if people knew how to move up.

Solid remote work for Software Engineers
Pros: I've been able to work remotely as a Software Engineer, which is a huge plus for my schedule. The WFH setup here at AvePoint, especially for cloud solutions development, really helps with personal life. It's a pretty flexible hybrid model if you're near an office too.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines can still feel tight, especially with global teams across different time zones. You might find yourself online a bit later or earlier than ideal to sync up, which cuts into that work flexibility. It's not always perfect for deep focus blocks due to varied meeting times.
Advice to Management: Try to improve global team coordination to minimize out-of-hours meetings. Better tools for asynchronous communication could help reduce the need for late-night syncs, improving overall work flexibility for the engineering team.

Pretty solid for cloud solutions work
Pros: The company is big in the Microsoft cloud solutions space, so there's always work. For Software Engineer roles, they're growing and don't seem to be laying people off much. Job security feels good, especially as a remote employee.
Cons: Sometimes project priorities shift fast. This can make planning a bit tough for engineering teams. It's not a super high-growth, move-up-fast kind of place either.
Advice to Management: Keep focusing on clear project roadmaps. This would help engineering teams avoid reworks and improve efficiency.

Good for Microsoft tech, culture could use work
Pros: Working with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem is a big plus for a Software Engineer here. I learned a lot about cloud governance and data migration tools. My team in the Jersey City office was really solid, good folks.
Cons: The overall company culture feels pretty corporate now, losing that mid-sized tech startup feel. It's tough to build connections with so many people remote from home, even with our hybrid model. Communication between different product teams can be a real struggle.
Advice to Management: Focus on making the hybrid model actually work for building culture. Maybe more team-building events in the Jersey City office. Clearer communication across engineering teams would help a lot too.

Career Growth is What You Make Of It
Pros: You definitely get exposure to a lot of different technologies, especially around Microsoft 365 solutions. It's solid if you're proactive about finding new projects. Working remote from Richmond, VA has been great for my personal life.
Cons: Career path isn't super clear for Software Engineer roles, so you really have to advocate for yourself. Sometimes, growth feels more like moving laterally than truly advancing in the software industry. It's not a big tech company with a clear promotion ladder.
Advice to Management: Develop clearer career progression paths for individual contributors, especially for engineering roles. Invest in mentorship programs to support junior developers more actively.

Leadership needs to get more connected
Pros: My direct team lead and manager are pretty solid. They genuinely try to support us, especially for remote employees. It's a good place if you want to deep dive into Microsoft 365 and cloud data management, which is a big plus for a Solutions Architect.
Cons: Upper leadership in this big tech corporate environment often makes decisions without much input from the ground. It feels like they're a bit disconnected from what we do daily. Sometimes, the overall direction for key software development initiatives can be fuzzy, making things tough.
Advice to Management: Try to get more direct feedback from individual contributors and middle management. Understanding the daily challenges would really help in setting a clearer vision.

Solid benefits, but average pay for tech roles
Pros: They offer a pretty standard health insurance package, which is good. There's also a decent WFH stipend since I was remote from Austin, TX. The time off policy isn't bad either.
Cons: The base salary for Software Engineer roles isn't competitive, especially compared to other SaaS companies. Annual raises are usually pretty small. Don't expect big bonuses or stock options here.
Advice to Management: Management should seriously look at salary bands for technical roles. To attract and retain top Software Engineers, compensation needs to be competitive with the broader SaaS industry. More transparent bonus structures would help too.

Solid Start, But Growth Can Be Slow
Pros: If you're a junior software engineer, you'll pick up a lot about the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and cloud solutions. They do offer some decent learning resources, which is nice for initial skill-building.
Cons: Career growth here is pretty slow for mid-level folks. There isn't a clear path for promotion to senior roles. You often have to really push or look elsewhere to advance as a software engineer.
Advice to Management: You guys need to build out better career ladders and mentorship programs. It would really help retain technical talent, especially for those looking to specialize in complex cloud solutions.
