Okay Place, But Career Growth is Limited
Pros: You get to work on some cool interactive media projects. I learned a lot about new tech stacks from my peers. The team culture in the San Francisco office is pretty supportive, which is nice.
Cons: As a Software Engineer, the career path isn't clear at all. There aren't many opportunities for upward mobility or promotions. I found it tough to get formal training or development budget too.
Advice to Management: Please create clear promotion tracks for technical roles. Invest more in employee development and formal training programs. It would help a lot with retention.

Okay for junior UX, culture needs work
Pros: I enjoyed the creative challenges. As a UX Designer, I got to work on some cool digital projects. People on my immediate team were supportive, which helped with learning new design tools.
Cons: The company culture feels a bit cliquey sometimes. Communication from upper management isn't always clear, especially about project timelines. It made collaboration tough for new hires.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer cross-team communication. Help integrate new hires better into the overall company culture. For interactive roles, strong internal communication is key.

Career Growth for Developers is Tough Here
Pros: You can definitely learn a lot if you're proactive. There's a decent amount of project variety in software development here. As a Software Engineer, I got to work on different digital products, which broadened my skill set.
Cons: Formal career paths aren't really clear for developer roles. Promotion opportunities feel pretty limited at this mid-sized tech company in Singapore. There isn't much of a training budget, so self-learning is key for career growth.
Advice to Management: Management should really work on defining clear career progression for technical roles. Investing in employee training would also help a lot with retention.

Junior Web Developer

Okay for benefits, but pay could improve
Pros: The health benefits here are pretty solid, better than I expected for a mid-sized agency. They cover a good chunk of medical stuff, which is a plus. The annual leave policy is decent too.
Cons: Pay for a Junior Web Developer isn't super competitive, especially in the Singapore office. There's not much transparency on salary progression, so raises feel kinda arbitrary. I felt underpaid compared to other digital solutions companies.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating a clear salary band and promotion structure, especially for entry to mid-level web development roles. Transparent pay reviews would really help with retention.

Growth is slow after your first few years
Pros: You get decent exposure to various projects, especially in digital solutions, which is good for building a portfolio early on. It's a pretty friendly environment for new grads learning initial web development skills in the tech industry.
Cons: Career progression for experienced Software Developers isn't clear at all. There isn't a structured mentorship program or a solid path to move into senior or leadership roles within this tech startup. Yearly performance reviews don't usually outline specific steps for career growth beyond your current role.
Advice to Management: Develop clearer career paths for experienced Software Developers. Invest in formal training or a mentorship program to retain talent and foster growth within the company beyond junior roles in the Singapore office.

Project Manager

Decent place for interactive media, but flexibility varies.
Pros: They offer some hybrid work options, which is a plus for Project Manager roles, letting you balance client meetings with focused work. It's helpful for managing personal appointments without much fuss. The Singapore office has a solid vibe most days, and it's nice to see colleagues.
Cons: The remote work flexibility can disappear during crunch times for client services projects. You're often expected onsite for critical meetings even if you planned to WFH. It's tough when deadlines hit and your 40-hour week easily turns into 50+ hours.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer boundaries for remote work, even during busy periods. It would really help with employee morale and burnout, especially for those in client-facing roles like Project Managers.

Okay for junior roles, but long hours
Pros: The team is solid, and I've learned a ton about web development projects. There's decent work flexibility sometimes, especially with the hybrid setup. You get good exposure to many different digital marketing campaigns.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough for a Web Developer here. Long hours are common, especially when client deadlines hit. It's not always easy to clock out at 6 PM in the Singapore office.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage client expectations and project scope. More realistic timelines would really help team burnout for web development and digital marketing roles.

Okay Place, But Job Security Can Be Tricky
Pros: I liked that as a Web Developer, there was always new work. It's a mid-sized agency, so you get to touch different client projects. The learning curve was solid for someone new to the digital marketing industry.
Cons: The biggest issue for engineering roles is job security. When big client projects end or if there's a dip in new business, you definitely feel the pressure. It's tough when your role depends so much on the next big win, especially in the Singapore office.
Advice to Management: To improve job security, maybe explore more retainer-based clients or build out internal products. This would create a more stable environment for your tech teams, especially for web developers.

Okay for a tech startup, but work-life balance is tough.
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the Singapore office, I appreciate the occasional team events and free lunch. We do get some holidays off, which is decent. The core work hours are pretty standard when there isn't a tight deadline.
Cons: The work-life balance isn't great during crunch times for a tech startup. It's common to work late, sometimes past 7 PM, especially during sprint cycles in software development. This makes it really hard to plan personal stuff outside of work.
Advice to Management: Management should really try to plan projects better and respect employees' personal time. Constantly shifting deadlines or adding new features late in the game just burns people out. A better work-life balance would seriously boost morale.

Leadership at Activate: room to grow
Pros: I enjoyed the diverse digital marketing projects we took on. As a Project Manager, I felt like my team was really collaborative and we got good work done.
Cons: Leadership communication could be pretty inconsistent. It was tough sometimes to get a clear vision, especially in our hybrid work setup. Decisions felt pretty top-down for a mid-sized tech company, which was frustrating.
Advice to Management: Try to engage more with individual contributors. Clearer communication from the top would really help guide us.
