Pros: It's good for gaining experience in commercial architecture projects. The hybrid work model is decent; I get to work from home a couple of days a week, which is nice. We work on some solid, high-profile projects in the Houston market.
Cons: Leadership communication can be really inconsistent, especially for Architectural Designer roles. There's often a disconnect between project leads and upper management decisions. It feels like leaders don't always fully grasp the workload on the ground, which leads to some unrealistic deadlines and stress.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving transparent communication from leadership to project teams. Really listen to what your Architectural Designers and Project Managers are saying about workload and resources. Invest in leadership training around empathy and effective team management.

Pros: As a Marketing Coordinator, I've found my immediate team in the Dallas office to be really supportive. There are decent social events, which helps with bonding and team morale at this mid-sized firm.
Cons: Sometimes, it feels a bit cliquey, especially if you're not in the core consulting group. Leadership doesn't always seem connected to the day-to-day for non-client roles, which impacts the overall company culture.
Advice to Management: Management should try to connect more with all departments, not just client-facing teams, to foster a more inclusive company culture across the entire mid-sized firm.

Pros: I've learned a lot of core software development skills here, especially working onsite in the Austin office. They're good at onboarding new grads, so you get solid foundational experience as a Junior Software Developer.
Cons: Career progression is really slow. There aren't clear pathways for promotion beyond the entry-level, and it's hard to get challenging new projects. You just feel stuck doing the same tasks for ages.
Advice to Management: Create clearer promotion criteria and make sure there are mentorship programs for mid-level roles. Give employees more opportunities for advanced training and new responsibilities to keep them engaged.
