Pros: The team environment for Process Engineers in the Singapore office is genuinely supportive. Colleagues are helpful, making it easy to learn the ropes in the energy sector. We get solid benefits and team-building events, which helps with morale.
Cons: It's pretty old-school, so new ideas for power generation often face a lot of red tape. The corporate environment can feel a bit rigid, and the hybrid work flexibility isn't consistent across teams. Sometimes, it feels like we're just going through the motions.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into fostering more innovation. Embrace the hybrid work arrangement more fully for all roles, not just some. It would help a lot with modernizing the company culture in the energy sector.

Pros: You get good job security in the utilities sector. It's a big company, so there are established processes. The team in the Singapore office is generally supportive for new engineers.
Cons: Work flexibility is pretty much non-existent, especially for plant operations roles. As a Junior Electrical Engineer, I'm expected to be onsite daily. There's no real hybrid or WFH option, even for administrative tasks.
Advice to Management: Consider allowing more hybrid work options for roles that don't require constant physical presence. It would really help with employee morale and attraction, especially for younger talent.
