Okay Place for Healthtech Engineering, But Growth Slow
Pros: I've learned a ton about specific healthcare technology standards and clinical workflows. My team is solid; we really collaborate well on new EHR features. It's a good place for hands-on experience as a Clinical Software Engineer, especially early in your career.
Cons: Career growth here is tough. There aren't many clear paths for promotion beyond senior individual contributor. For tech roles, it feels like you're stuck unless someone leaves or a new role is literally created. My annual performance reviews rarely led to significant upward movement.
Advice to Management: WhiteCoat Global needs to invest more in clear career development programs for its engineering staff. Define what it takes to move from a Senior Clinical Software Engineer to a Lead or Principal role. Offer mentorship from senior leaders and allocate time for professional development, not just project work.

Hybrid Model Okay, Could Be Better for Tech Roles
Pros: As a Software Engineer at WhiteCoat Global, the hybrid setup is decent. I appreciate the option to work from home a couple of days a week, especially avoiding the San Francisco commute sometimes. It's a standard corporate approach to work arrangement in healthcare tech.
Cons: But the 'required' in-office days can feel a bit rigid. There's not much wiggle room for medical software development deadlines or personal appointments on those days. True work flexibility isn't always there, which is tough.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more choice for in-office days, or at least making them more flexible when project loads for medical software development are high. Trust your teams more with remote work.

Okay Place, But Career Growth is Tough for Engineers
Pros: I learned a ton as a Junior Software Engineer working on patient data systems in the health tech industry. My team lead was really solid and taught me a lot. The hybrid work model helped me connect with people at the Boston, MA office too.
Cons: There isn't a clear career path here. Promotions are super slow, and I didn't see many opportunities for skill development outside my immediate project. It's hard to move up if you're not in management.
Advice to Management: Management should really invest in clear career progression frameworks, especially for technical roles like software engineering. More structured training and development programs would help a lot.
