Decent flexibility for tech roles.
Pros: I've really liked the hybrid model here. As a Software Engineer, I get to work remotely from Austin, TX most days, which is a huge plus. They're pretty understanding about personal appointments too.
Cons: Sometimes the core hours feel a bit rigid. It's not full remote, so you still need to be in the office a couple days a week if you're local, even for some machine learning development teams.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for more flexibility, especially for remote employees. Maybe lighten up on the mandatory in-office days for hybrid teams where it's not strictly necessary.

Leadership means well, but there are growing pains
Pros: I liked the fast pace. As a Software Engineer, I got to work on some genuinely interesting AI research projects. The team in the Seattle office was really collaborative and smart. It felt like a true startup environment for a while.
Cons: Post-acquisition, leadership struggled with integration. There's often a lack of clear strategy for our deep learning projects. Communication from the top down can be pretty inconsistent, which makes planning tough.
Advice to Management: Focus on transparent communication about future strategy. Give teams clearer objectives for projects. Invest in middle management training for better team support.

Leadership is a mixed bag here
Pros: Some senior managers are truly supportive. For a mid-sized tech company, the mentorship from some leads is solid for junior engineers. You can learn a lot from certain project leads in the San Francisco office.
Cons: There's often a lack of clear direction from upper management. It's tough when leadership changes strategy too often. As a Software Engineer, you don't always feel heard about project decisions.
Advice to Management: Focus on consistent messaging and vision across all levels. Make sure project decisions aren't just top-down and include input from engineering.
