Okay for now, but not much growth
Pros: It's a solid place to learn the basics of ERP software if you're new to the industry. As an ERP Consultant, I got hands-on experience with different client projects, which was good for my initial skills. The hybrid work model is also a plus for work-life balance.
Cons: There's not a clear path for career growth here. Promotions feel slow, and there aren't many senior roles opening up for ERP professionals in the Houston office. Mentorship for moving up is pretty informal, so you're kinda on your own to figure it out.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer career progression paths for junior ERP Consultants. More formal mentorship programs would help a lot with skill development and internal promotions.

JiBe ERP: Stability Varies by Role
Pros: The company is solid in the maritime ERP space, which means there's a constant need for our software solutions. For experienced Software Engineers, project work is usually consistent. We do have a hybrid work model that's pretty flexible.
Cons: Job security isn't always clear-cut, especially for newer hires or those in more project-dependent roles like implementation consultants. I've seen folks get let go when big projects in the supply chain tech division finish, which feels tough.
Advice to Management: Work on clearer internal mobility paths and better communication about future projects. Don't leave folks wondering what's next when a client project ends.

Leadership has good intentions, execution needs help
Pros: My direct manager was usually pretty supportive, which helps a lot. They trust you to get your work done, which is a nice perk for a remote role. We had decent autonomy for individual contributors.
Cons: Upper leadership sometimes feels disconnected from the day-to-day. Strategic direction for our enterprise software projects isn't always clear, leading to rework. There's definitely room for better communication across the mid-sized tech company.
Advice to Management: Focus on transparent communication from the top down. Invest in leadership development programs for middle managers, especially concerning project vision for ERP solutions.
