Decent Flexibility for a Sales Role

Hunter Bond has a decent setup for work flexibility, especially considering it's a recruitment agency. You get some WFH, but it's definitely a hybrid model, not fully remote. The sales culture means you're still expected to put in the hours, but they try to accommodate where they can.

Pros

They offer a pretty solid hybrid work arrangement. As a Recruitment Consultant, I could often work from home a couple of days a week once targets were met. It helped with the daily grind in the competitive London market.

Cons

Full-time remote work isn't an option here; you're expected in the office most days. Sometimes, the 'work from home' days felt more like a privilege than a standard benefit. Flexibility can feel limited if you're not consistently hitting those high recruitment targets.

Advice to Management

Keep embracing the hybrid model; it's a real draw for Recruitment Consultant talent. Maybe review strict in-office days for top performers.

Hybrid model is okay, not super flexible
Pros: The hybrid work model is a decent perk here. You can work from home a couple days a week for recruitment consultant roles, which helps a lot. It cuts down on the long London commute.
Cons: Those two days in the London office are pretty set in stone, though. There's not much flexibility if you need an extra WFH day for personal stuff. It can be tough when client meetings pop up on your 'home' days too, forcing you in.
Advice to Management: Be more flexible with the hybrid schedule. Trust employees to manage their work and client needs, especially for recruitment roles. It would help with overall morale.

Culture is High-Energy but Can Be Tough
Pros: You'll learn a ton, especially in tech recruitment. The team in the London office is generally supportive and you build solid bonds. It's a good place if you thrive on high energy.
Cons: The culture can feel very "sales-y" and target-driven. This means long hours are common, and it's hard to maintain a decent work-life balance for an Associate Recruiter. The pressure can be constant.
Advice to Management: Try to recognize success beyond just hitting sales targets. Encourage a bit more work-life balance for recruiters, especially with the demanding tech recruitment market.

Demanding role, tough work-life balance
Pros: The team in the London office was generally solid; you felt like you were all in it together. You also learn a ton about the recruitment industry really quickly. Good for building a network if you can stick it out.
Cons: Work-life balance here isn't great, especially as a new Recruitment Consultant. Expect long days and often some weekend work to hit targets. It's a high-pressure sales environment, so downtime is rare.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic expectations for junior Recruitment Consultants regarding hours. Maybe encourage a bit more work-life balance or offer clearer boundaries to prevent burnout.
