Decent Shifts for Bakery Work
Pros: As a Baker at Freshlybaked, it's cool that early morning shifts mean your afternoons are often free. It's a solid perk for managing personal stuff. You can sometimes swap shifts with other bakery staff if you plan ahead.
Cons: Work flexibility here isn't like a remote tech job. You're onsite in the Austin, TX location, always. Expect holidays and weekends, which really impacts your social life. There's no true WFH option for baking professionals, obviously.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more consistent schedules for baking professionals. It would help with overall morale and planning outside of work.

Decent place, but work-life balance struggles
Pros: The team here is pretty solid, everyone helps out during busy times. I learned a lot about new baking techniques and got to be creative. It's a mid-sized company, so you feel like you're part of something.
Cons: Work-life balance is definitely a challenge, especially in this onsite role. Expect consistent 50+ hour weeks as a Pastry Chef, with lots of early morning shifts and weekend work. There's not much flexibility for personal appointments.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to better manage staffing to reduce overtime for the kitchen team, especially Pastry Chefs. More predictable schedules or options for occasional remote work for admin roles would help morale. It's tough to have a life outside of work with the current setup.
