Pros: The hybrid work model does give some flexibility. We can work remotely a few days a week, which is great for avoiding the San Francisco commute. For us software developers, it's possible to get a lot done from home.
Cons: The "hybrid" part sometimes feels like an excuse to still demand a lot of office time. There's often pressure to be in for specific meetings, making true flexibility tough. It's not always easy to adjust your schedule last minute, even in agile teams.
Advice to Management: Really define what "hybrid" means and stick to it. Give teams more autonomy over their in-office days instead of blanket mandates. Trust your software developers to manage their time and contribute effectively from anywhere.
