Pros: The base salary for a Junior Software Engineer was pretty solid, especially for a tech startup in the Bay Area. It's competitive enough for the San Francisco living costs. You also get good equipment and some nice perks in the hybrid office.
Cons: Health benefits are just okay; they're not great compared to other tech industry companies. There's no 401k match either, which is a real downside for long-term savings. Equity grants for software development roles are also pretty confusing and don't feel very generous.
Advice to Management: Please re-evaluate the benefits package, especially adding a 401k match. Better health options would also help with employee retention and overall morale for all roles, not just software development. Make equity clearer.
