Company Reviews

Our history is marked by philanthropy and the passion for making a difference in people's lives. Hcor provided its first service in 1976, but its trajectory began many years earlier, when a group of women from the Arab community founded, in 1918, the Syrian Sanatorium Association to help orphans from the First World War. The decades of dedication to health, research, teaching and innovation have consolidated us as the main reference in cardiology in Brazil and have also placed us at the forefront in other fields of medicine. Our areas of expertise include more than 50 specialties, with emphasis on neurology, orthopedics, oncology and diagnostic medicine. Caring for others is our vocation, after all, the Syrian Charitable Association, which supports Hcor, has philanthropy and Social Responsibility as a hallmark of its history. Our efforts impact our patients, employees and clinical staff and reverberate throughout healthcare. We currently support the Ministry of Health to strengthen public health, through the Support Program for Institutional Development of the Unified Health System (PROADI-SUS), in projects that serve people in social vulnerability and train professionals across the country. Currently, Hcor includes the following services: consultancy and management, infusion therapy, vaccination center, emergency room, life without cigarettes and the Hcor Mais Saúde Program. Furthermore, Hcor has Environmental and Social Sustainability Policies and ISO14001:2015 Certification. Hcor has decades dedicated to health, research, teaching and innovation, leading cardiology in Brazil and at the forefront in several medical specialties, driven by the passion to make a difference in people's lives.

Hybrid Model Works, But Office Days Can Be Rigid
Pros: As a Junior Software Engineer, the hybrid work model is a solid perk. I get decent work-from-home days each week, which really helps with personal appointments. It's a nice change from being fully onsite and offers some good balance.
Cons: Those mandatory in-office days in the Austin, TX office can be tough. There's not much flexibility if you need to shift your hours on those days, even for something quick. Sometimes it feels like we're just there to be seen, which isn't ideal for software development work.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the need for rigid in-office days, especially for roles like Software Engineer. Trust your employees to manage their time efficiently, even when physically in the office. More true flexibility would boost morale.

Culture is fine, but leadership needs to connect
Pros: The best part is definitely my immediate team. Everyone's pretty collaborative and willing to help out, which makes day-to-day work easier in the Atlanta office. There are also some decent company social events sometimes, like holiday parties.
Cons: Upper management often seems out of touch with what's happening on the ground. This big corporate culture can feel pretty cliquey, and it's tough to get real transparency. Decisions don't always make sense for the front-line Marketing Specialist roles.
Advice to Management: Listen more to your employees, especially those in individual contributor roles. Try to foster a more inclusive culture across all levels, not just within specific teams. Real transparency would go a long way.
