Hybrid Model Needs More Flexibility
Pros: It's a stable corporate environment working on interesting material handling solutions. The Dallas office has a good team vibe. We do have a hybrid model for some roles, which is a step up from fully onsite work.
Cons: For Controls Engineer roles, the "hybrid" often means you're in the office most of the week. Real remote work flexibility for our engineering tasks is pretty limited. It's tough to plan personal stuff when WFH days feel random sometimes.
Advice to Management: Really look at what roles genuinely need to be onsite for logistics automation projects. Give Controls Engineers more trust with remote work for design and documentation.

Growth is possible, but you gotta fight for it
Pros: As a Controls Engineer, you get to work on some pretty complex material handling solutions. If you're proactive, you can definitely learn a lot and grab new responsibilities. The hybrid work model also gives you some space to focus on personal development.
Cons: Career growth here isn't handed to you; it's honestly tough for technical roles. You really have to push hard for any advancement, even in the Denver office. Things can feel slow, typical for a big corporate company.
Advice to Management: Make career paths clearer for technical staff. Encourage internal mobility more actively instead of making employees fight for every step.

Work-Life Balance is Decent, But Can Get Intense
Pros: For a Project Engineer role in the intralogistics industry, the standard 40-hour week is often achievable. We also get decent PTO, which helps recharge. The hybrid work option in the Denver, CO office is a big plus too.
Cons: When a big project for airport technology or parcel delivery systems is launching, expect some late nights. It's not uncommon to work 50+ hours then. Sometimes the 'balance' really swings away from life.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scopes and timelines. It's tough when engineers are consistently burning out just to meet unrealistic deadlines. More resources would help ease the load.

Flexibility is There, But It's Limited
Pros: I did get some hybrid work options, which was nice for a big corporate company. If your project isn't on a tight deadline, you can usually work remote from home a couple days a week. It helps with the commute to the Dallas office.
Cons: Work flexibility really depends on your specific team and project leader. For hands-on engineering roles, especially related to new material handling solutions, onsite requirements are often strict. It's tough to get consistent work from home when you need to be in the lab or on the factory floor for conveyor systems testing.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize hybrid work policies across different engineering departments. More transparency on what roles truly need to be onsite for logistics automation would help employees plan better.

Leadership has good intentions, but execution varies
Pros: I've really enjoyed being a Controls Engineer here. We work on some cool material handling solutions and the teams are generally solid. The Dallas office has a pretty decent vibe for onsite work and collaboration.
Cons: Leadership can feel pretty disconnected sometimes. It's tough getting quick decisions for intralogistics projects, and that slows things down. Communication from the top isn't always clear, especially for those in a hybrid model.
Advice to Management: Try to be more visible and transparent with decisions. Better communication from corporate leadership would really help people, especially those in the hybrid model.

Pay is Decent, Benefits Are Standard
Pros: The 401k match is pretty solid, and the health insurance options are decent, which is good for a big corporate employer. For Project Manager roles, you do get a stable base salary and feel secure in your benefits package.
Cons: Salaries for engineering roles and Project Managers, especially in the Denver, CO area, don't really keep up with market rates for the automated systems industry. It's tough to get significant raises without a promotion, and the starting offers can be lower than expected.
Advice to Management: Seriously re-evaluate the compensation structure for Project Managers and other key engineering roles. You're losing good talent in competitive markets like Denver, CO, because pay isn't aligned with the rest of the material handling solutions industry.

Decent work-life balance, but project crunch time
Pros: Usually, I had predictable 40-hour weeks in the Dallas office. This was great for managing my personal life. For standard material handling projects, the pace was manageable and I often left on time. They offer decent hybrid options for some roles, which really helps.
Cons: When a big airport baggage handling system project hit, evenings and weekends were definitely a thing. This wasn't sustainable for long periods. Project timelines could be really aggressive, especially closer to commissioning, impacting my work-life balance as a Project Engineer. There isn't always enough support to avoid crunch periods for major installations.
Advice to Management: Consider more realistic project timelines for intralogistics solutions. Adding more resources during peak project phases would really help prevent burnout among Project Engineers and improve overall work-life balance.
