Decent Place, but Work-Life Balance Varies Greatly
Pros: I liked the team dynamic in the Loves Park office; people are generally supportive. For an Applications Engineer, the hybrid model was helpful, letting me WFH a couple days. As a large corporate, the benefits are pretty solid.
Cons: The workload for engineering roles can be intense, especially during product launches or critical customer projects. It's hard to consistently maintain a 40-hour week. Sometimes, I felt pressure to be available beyond typical hours, which definitely impacts personal time.
Advice to Management: Management should really emphasize setting boundaries and encourage teams to disconnect. The constant push for tight deadlines in the HVAC sector often burns people out. More resources could help balance the workload better for technical staff.

Remote Work is Okay, But Could Be Better
Pros: I appreciate the option to work remote from Texas, which is a huge plus for my commute. As an Applications Engineer, I can manage most of my HVAC solutions design work from home. The hybrid model means I'm not stuck in an office every single day, which is nice.
Cons: The work-life balance isn't always great, even with remote work. There's a push for more onsite days, making the work_flexibility feel less flexible over time. Some days, my schedule feels packed with virtual meetings, leaving little time for focused work.
Advice to Management: Give employees more genuine flexibility, especially for roles like Applications Engineers. Trust us to get the job done without constantly pushing for more in-office time, especially when supporting global industrial automation projects remotely.

Decent Work-Life for an Engineer at Danfoss
Pros: I really appreciate the hybrid work model; it helps a lot with my commute to the Ames, Iowa office. Most weeks, I can stick to a pretty solid 40-hour schedule, which is tough to find in the industrial automation industry.
Cons: Sometimes, project deadlines for new HVAC-R solutions can really pile up, making for long weeks. There's not much flexibility when things get crunched, and you're expected to just power through.
Advice to Management: Management should look at resource allocation better to avoid constant crunch times, especially for engineers working on new industrial automation projects. More consistent flexibility would go a long way.
