Stable Environment, Great Tech, Good People
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time at Arm as a Software Engineer. The work on semiconductor IP is challenging and always offers learning opportunities, especially in embedded systems. Colleagues are bright and supportive. It's a stable tech industry company, providing good job security and a positive culture.
Cons: Promotions can feel a bit slow sometimes. Approval processes for new initiatives are occasionally bureaucratic, slowing things down a bit. Occasional busy periods are typical here.
Advice to Management: Streamline the promotion process and reduce some of the bureaucratic hurdles to empower teams to innovate faster.

Solid, Stable Place for Chip Development
Pros: You feel pretty secure here, especially as a Software Engineer working on core CPU architecture. The semiconductor industry is tough, but Arm's position feels solid. Benefits are decent in the Cambridge, UK office and the hybrid work model helps.
Cons: Job security for some newer roles can feel a bit less certain than the core business. Growth might be slower than a startup. Sometimes the corporate pace can feel a bit bureaucratic, which can affect project stability.
Advice to Management: Keep an eye on making sure all teams feel equally valued and secure, not just the core IP groups. Improve transparency on long-term project stability.

Okay Work-Life, Solid Tech for Engineers
Pros: You get good exposure to cutting-edge IP licensing and CPU architecture in the semiconductor space, which is great for career development. The hybrid work model in the Cambridge office is a real plus, letting me balance office presence with WFH days. Benefits like health insurance are pretty good too.
Cons: Work-life balance can definitely get tough during critical project deadlines. I've had to put in longer hours than I'd like as a Software Engineer. Sometimes it feels like there's just too much on our plate without enough resources.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project scope better and provide more realistic timelines. Support teams more actively to prevent burnout during crunch times.
