Pros: I've really enjoyed my time as a Software Engineer at HTC Global Services in Troy, MI. It's a stable IT services company that offers good learning opportunities for new technologies and career development. The culture is collaborative, and my colleagues are supportive. I've gained valuable project experience.
Cons: Career progression can feel a bit slow for an IT consultant. Also, communication across larger global teams could be more streamlined, which is common in a large IT services firm. Getting approvals sometimes takes longer than ideal.
Advice to Management: Focus on making career progression paths clearer and more transparent for IT consultants. Streamlining cross-departmental and global team communication would also greatly improve efficiency and employee satisfaction in our IT services delivery.

Pros: It's nice that they allow remote work for many software development roles. This helps a lot with personal appointments and managing my day. As a Software Engineer, I could generally arrange my own schedule around core tasks. Having that work flexibility for remote employees is a definite plus in the IT services industry.
Cons: Work-life balance really depends on your project manager. Some teams had crazy hours, pushing 40+ hour weeks regularly, especially for big corporate clients. There's not much pushback on weekend requests for critical projects. For remote employees, it sometimes feels like there are no boundaries and work just keeps extending into personal time.
Advice to Management: Need more consistent policies across project teams. Managers should enforce reasonable working hours for all IT professionals. Better project planning would prevent crunch times and improve overall employee morale.

Cons: Work-life balance here is really project-dependent. Some client projects require crazy hours, especially around deadlines. It's tough to plan much when your schedule can shift quickly, even in the Troy, Michigan office.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize project workloads better. Provide more support for engineers during crunch times to prevent burnout.
