Okay balance for a corporate gig
Pros: The team is pretty solid, people genuinely try to help each other out. For a large enterprise like Koch, the benefits package is actually quite competitive. There's some flexibility for hybrid work, which is nice for avoiding the daily Houston traffic.
Cons: Work-life balance as a Financial Analyst here can be really hit or miss. Some weeks it's a solid 40, others it's more like 55+ hours, especially around month-end close. It's an onsite/hybrid model, but management sometimes expects you in the office more often than initially stated. The workload for finance roles in the energy sector can be demanding.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize workloads better across financial analyst teams. Improve transparency around expected office days for hybrid roles.

Okay flexibility, really depends on your team
Pros: Some teams for Process Engineer roles in the Wichita office do offer a decent hybrid model. It's nice to have a couple days working from home. This helps a lot with the commute in a large corporate environment.
Cons: The default is still mostly onsite for many industrial operations, which can be tough. If your team or manager isn't keen on it, flexibility is pretty limited. Remote work options aren't a given, especially in manufacturing.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid model across more engineering and support roles. Trust your teams more with remote work options to improve work-life balance.

Solid pay for engineers, but benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary is really competitive for a Process Engineer in Wichita, KS. There's a decent bonus structure too if the plant hits its targets. You can definitely build a good nest egg here.
Cons: Health insurance premiums feel pretty high, and the deductible isn't great. The 401k match is okay, but it's not the best compared to some other big industrial companies I've seen. Perks are minimal.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the health benefits package to be more competitive. A better 401k match would also go a long way in employee retention for engineering roles.
