Pros: The hybrid work model is a solid benefit here. It really helps with commuting less into the New York City office. For a global insurer, it's pretty decent for maintaining a personal life most of the time.
Cons: Some weeks, especially around quarter-end, the workload can be heavy. As a Senior Underwriter, I've had to put in longer hours. It's tough to fully disconnect when you're in the middle of closing deals.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage peak workloads across teams. More support for employees during crunch times in the reinsurance industry would be appreciated.

Pros: It's a solid global insurer, so there's good job security, especially in specialty insurance. I liked the WFH setup remote from Dallas; it really helped with work-life balance. Benefits were pretty decent too.
Cons: Career growth was a real challenge as a Junior Underwriter. It felt like there weren't many clear paths to move up, even after several years. Internal mobility for underwriting roles just wasn't very strong in this corporate structure.
Advice to Management: Management should focus on creating more defined career paths and providing better mentorship for junior staff. More transparency on how to advance would help a lot.

Pros: I really like the hybrid model here. It's great getting to WFH a couple of days each week. That really helps cut down on the commute to the New York City office, which is a big deal for my overall work-life. For us commercial insurance folks, that flexibility makes a difference.
Cons: Getting approval for any extra remote days is tough, though. The standard two days is mostly it, and it feels a bit rigid. I wish there was more wiggle room when things come up.
Advice to Management: Maybe relax the WFH policy a bit more. Give managers more leeway for ad-hoc remote requests, especially for tenured employees.
