Job security is okay, but things change often
Pros: For a Software Engineer, the core work in K-12 educational software is pretty stable. You're building products schools truly need. It's a large company, so you don't really worry about it going out of business overnight.
Cons: The frequent reorgs definitely make you wonder about job security. Entire teams can be shuffled around, and projects get dropped without much warning. It feels pretty unstable sometimes, even if the company itself isn't failing.
Advice to Management: Try to stabilize teams and projects. Constant reorgs create uncertainty and make it hard for people, especially engineering teams, to feel secure in their roles. Better communication on future plans would help a lot.

Leadership has its moments, good and bad.
Pros: Some project leads are genuinely fantastic and give solid direction for our learning platform initiatives. They really get the K-12 education tech space and support their remote teams well.
Cons: The broader executive leadership often feels disconnected from the day-to-day engineering work. Important strategy changes sometimes just appear, which can be frustrating for those of us building the actual educational software. It makes it tough for career growth.
Advice to Management: Upper management needs to connect more with individual contributors, especially those in remote Software Engineer roles. More transparent communication on strategic changes would help a lot.
