Good base pay, but benefits are just okay
Pros: The base salary for a Cloud Consultant is pretty competitive in this industry, especially if you're good with cloud technology platforms like Anaplan. I really appreciate the remote work setup too; it helps save on costs and offers great flexibility. This mid-sized consulting firm does pay well.
Cons: Honestly, the health insurance benefits aren't fantastic compared to what I've seen elsewhere. There's not much room for significant performance bonuses, which can be a bummer. PTO accrual also feels a bit slow when you're first starting out.
Advice to Management: Revisit the overall benefits package, especially healthcare options, to be more competitive. Consider clearer bonus structures for high performers in digital transformation projects.

Work-life balance is a real mixed bag here
Pros: It's awesome to be fully remote, saving that commute time is huge. For some cloud consulting implementation projects, the hours are pretty decent, usually around a 45-hour week. My immediate team was super supportive when I needed flexibility for personal stuff.
Cons: Then there are other projects, especially with tight deadlines, where you're easily hitting 60+ hours. That really drains you and messes with your personal life. It feels like managers don't always protect consultants from overwork, which is tough for maintaining work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Try to distribute project loads more evenly and set realistic expectations for complex cloud solution implementation projects. Encourage team leads to actively monitor and prevent burnout among their consultants.

Leadership: A Mixed Bag for Remote Managers
Pros: For a Manager leading cloud implementation projects, there are some solid leaders here. You get a lot of autonomy if you're a self-starter. Some directors are genuinely good mentors who support your career growth within management consulting.
Cons: The top-level leadership feels pretty disconnected from day-to-day. There's often a lack of clear strategic vision from them. This can make it tough for project teams, especially for us remote workers trying to align goals.
Advice to Management: Work on improving communication from the very top. Managers need a clearer strategic roadmap to guide their teams effectively. More consistent support for remote managers would also help.
