Mechanical Engineer
3.0

Decent benefits, but flexibility isn't their strong suit
Pros: The pay package for a Mechanical Engineer is competitive, and benefits are good. You get solid job security working for such a large corporate environment. There's a lot of stability here.
Cons: Work flexibility is really limited. Most roles, especially in the Chicago office, are expected to be onsite full-time. Even a hybrid model isn't common, which is tough. The hours are pretty standard 8-5, no real wiggle room.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more options for remote or hybrid work, especially for roles like Mechanical Engineer. The lack of work flexibility makes it harder to compete for talent.

Job Security at thyssenkrupp: It's Complicated
Pros: Working for a big corporate like this means you're generally safe unless there's a huge shift. My role in materials processing felt pretty core to the business. It's not like they just randomly let people go; there's usually a process.
Cons: The continuous restructuring is the biggest issue. They're always selling off or reorganizing parts of the company, which definitely makes you worry about your specific team or even your industrial engineering future. It just feels uncertain sometimes.
Advice to Management: Communicate more openly about strategic decisions and how they impact employees across different divisions. Reducing the guesswork would help a lot.

Logistics Coordinator

Pay is Okay, Benefits are Standard
Pros: The health insurance plans were decent for a big corporate company like thyssenkrupp. They offer a solid 401k match, which is good for long-term savings in the industrial services sector. Paid time off felt fair, especially as a Logistics Coordinator in the Atlanta office.
Cons: Salaries just aren't competitive with the market, especially for supply chain roles. Annual raises are super small, barely keeping up with inflation. It's tough to negotiate a higher starting salary; there's not much wiggle room.
Advice to Management: You really need to reassess compensation across the board, especially for entry and mid-level positions. It's hard to attract and keep good talent when the pay isn't competitive with other manufacturing or industrial services companies.
