Pros: As an IT Consultant, I appreciate the flexibility of working remote from California. When projects are staffed well, it's possible to maintain a pretty good work-life balance. You get exposure to a lot of interesting digital transformation projects.
Cons: However, it's a different story when deadlines hit or teams are lean. I've had many weeks working 50-60 hours, which really cuts into personal time. The pressure on some of these client deliverables can be intense, especially for those in client-facing IT services roles.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage client expectations and staff projects more realistically. Overworking your IT Consultants isn't sustainable long-term. More structured off-peak times would help a lot.

Pros: Some of the direct managers are really supportive, especially when you're on tough tech projects. The remote flexibility for IT project managers is great; it's easy to manage your own schedule.
Cons: Upper management doesn't always seem connected to daily operations. There's not a clear path for career growth here, and leadership changes happen pretty often. It's hard to get a consistent vision across all IT consulting work.
Advice to Management: Try to get more consistent messaging from senior leadership. Connect with your remote teams more directly. Create clearer career progression plans for consultants.
