Pros: You get some good flexibility to work from home a couple of days a week, which is nice. As a Software Engineer, I could usually adjust my start time a bit to avoid traffic in the San Francisco office. The early-stage tech company vibe means less strict corporate rules sometimes.
Cons: While it's a hybrid model, there's an unspoken expectation to be in the office more often than not, especially for team meetings. True work-from-anywhere isn't really an option here. Sometimes, during critical sprints, flexible hours pretty much go out the window.
Advice to Management: Clarify the hybrid policy and set clearer expectations around remote work options for technical roles. It'd help a lot with planning and transparency, especially for those not living right in the city.
