Decent flexibility but can get busy sometimes
Pros: As a Project Coordinator at Mecsia, I've had decent work flexibility. The hybrid work model helps a lot, letting me split time between the Dallas, TX office and home. Most weeks, I can manage a pretty standard 40-hour work week, which is nice for family time. It's not a super demanding corporate environment.
Cons: Sometimes, especially when big projects are due in the industrial sector, the hours can really creep up. It's tough to completely switch off when deadlines are looming. There's not a lot of overtime pay for salaried roles, so extra hours often feel uncompensated. You're just expected to get the job done.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project loads to avoid frequent crunch times for your Project Coordinators. Consider recognizing or compensating salaried employees for extended hours during peak periods, especially in this competitive industrial sector.

Decent for remote work, but watch out.
Pros: I've found the remote work setup pretty flexible, which helps a lot with personal appointments. As a Software Engineer, you can mostly manage your own sprint tasks. They don't constantly hound you.
Cons: Sometimes there's a push for longer hours during release cycles, especially for critical features in our medium-sized tech company. It can be tough to truly disconnect even with WFH.
Advice to Management: Try to better plan releases to avoid last-minute crunch periods. It burns people out. Respecting time off would help a lot.

Mecsia's Hybrid Work: It's a Mixed Bag
Pros: They do offer a hybrid model, which is a plus. As a Production Engineer, I can arrange to work remotely a couple days a week, mostly for admin tasks. It's decent for fitting in appointments without burning PTO.
Cons: True work from home options are super limited for industrial roles like mine. You can't just up and leave the Houston, TX office, especially when there's an issue on the production floor. It's tough when you need to be onsite constantly, which feels like most of the time.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at how they can genuinely support flexible work for roles that aren't strictly operational. It's tough to attract and keep talent in the manufacturing sector if you're not competitive on remote options.
