Decent work-life balance, but watch out for sprints
Pros: As a Software Engineer, I really liked the work flexibility. It's good being remote from my home office, and I can usually get my tasks done within regular hours. Most weeks are a solid 40-hour week.
Cons: The work-life balance here can get tricky during product sprints or release cycles for our virtualization software. You're expected to be available more, and it sometimes means long days. It's tough to fully disconnect.
Advice to Management: Try to plan projects better to avoid those intense crunch times. It would help a lot with employee burnout and improve the overall work-life balance for the development teams.

It's okay here, but stay sharp.
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer, I did feel pretty essential. Parallels has a solid base in the virtualization software industry, so the core business feels stable. That's a good thing for day-to-day job security.
Cons: However, being a mid-size tech company, there's always talk about market changes or potential acquisitions. You can't ignore the general industry trends affecting job security, even in our Seattle, WA office. Some teams have seen reorgs, which makes you think.
Advice to Management: Communicate more clearly about long-term company strategy and how teams fit in. It helps calm the nerves when there are industry shifts or internal changes.
