Leadership has good intentions, execution varies

Working at CommandLink as a Client Success Manager has been an experience with definite ups and downs, particularly regarding how leadership impacts daily operations and team morale. While some aspects are good, the inconsistency from the top makes it tough sometimes.

Pros

You'll find some senior managers here who truly understand client needs, which is a big plus for our Client Success team. There's good flexibility for those of us working remote from Austin, TX, which I appreciate. It feels like a growing mid-sized IT services firm, so there's always something new.

Cons

The direction from leadership can really shift without much warning, making it hard to plan for client projects or new cloud solutions. There isn't always clear support or follow-through on initiatives after the initial announcement. We often feel decisions are rushed without enough input from the teams actually doing the work.

Advice to Management

Focus on more consistent communication and empower team leads more to make decisions. Give specific teams, like Client Success, clearer strategic roadmaps for IT services offerings instead of constant pivots. Support your remote teams better.

Supportive Environment for IT Professionals
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time here as a Technical Support Specialist. The team is super supportive, making it a great place to learn and develop your skills in the telecommunications industry. We get to work on diverse technical issues, which keeps things interesting, and the hybrid work model offers good flexibility.
Cons: While the culture is great, the promotion process can feel a little slow at times. Also, some periods are extremely busy with high ticket volumes, which can be challenging to manage alongside other tasks.
Advice to Management: Providing clearer pathways for career advancement and strategies to better manage high-volume periods would greatly benefit employee satisfaction and retention.

Solid Tech Company with Good Growth Potential
Pros: As a Network Engineer in IT services, I've found a very supportive team here. Our leadership really encourages professional growth and learning new technologies, which is great. The company offers decent work flexibility, especially with our remote setup, and there's a good sense of job security.
Cons: Communication from management, particularly between different teams, could be more consistent. Also, some internal approval processes can be a bit slow, which can occasionally hinder project speed.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining cross-departmental communication channels and reviewing internal approval workflows to enhance overall efficiency and project delivery speed.

Growth is Possible, But You Need to Push
Pros: There's some internal movement if you ask for it. I've seen a few people move into leadership or different technical roles. They do offer a small annual training budget, which is helpful for keeping up with new cloud solutions.
Cons: Formal career paths aren't really clear here. It feels like you have to really advocate for your own promotions and development plans. There isn't a structured mentorship program, which makes it tough for new Sales Engineers to get ramped up quickly.
Advice to Management: Create clearer career progression frameworks for technical roles like Sales Engineer. A formal mentorship program would also boost internal talent development in our mid-sized company.
