Pay is decent but benefits need work
Pros: The base salary for my Frontend Developer role was actually pretty solid, especially for a startup company. I got a decent sign-on bonus too, which was nice. For hybrid work in Austin, the pay scale felt competitive.
Cons: The health benefits aren't great, honestly. The 401k match is pretty weak, and there aren't many other perks like wellness stipends. Don't expect huge annual bonuses for software engineering roles here.
Advice to Management: Seriously look at improving the health insurance options and boosting the 401k match. Better benefits would really help with retention for tech talent in this competitive market.

Leadership is a mixed bag here
Pros: There are some really smart people at the top who understand the ride-sharing tech space. As a Software Engineer, you get decent autonomy on your projects, which is good. The team culture among peers is pretty solid.
Cons: It often feels like leadership doesn't really listen to feedback from us in the trenches. Decisions from the San Francisco office can sometimes feel disconnected from what's actually happening day-to-day. There isn't much transparency about company direction.
Advice to Management: Try to actually listen to the individual contributors and act on their feedback. More transparency about company goals and leadership decisions would make a huge difference.
