Pay is solid, benefits could improve
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the base salary is really competitive for a growing tech company. They're good about paying market rate, especially for remote roles. I've gotten decent annual raises.
Cons: The health insurance plans aren't great, high deductibles are a bummer. Stock options are pretty standard, nothing to write home about. Could use better PTO, too.
Advice to Management: Look into offering more comprehensive health benefits and consider increasing PTO for long-term employees. It'd really help with retention.

SQUAD's Work-Life Balance is Mostly Solid
Pros: I really appreciate the hybrid model; it helps a lot with my commute to the Austin, TX office. As a Junior Software Engineer, my direct manager tries to keep my hours reasonable. It's usually around 40-45 hours a week for typical software development tasks.
Cons: There are definitely crunch times, especially before big releases. It's hard to avoid working extra hours then, and sometimes I feel a bit burnt out. For a tech startup, it's expected, but it still bites.
Advice to Management: Try to plan project timelines more realistically to avoid constant crunch periods. Support the hybrid model fully.
