Pros: I really appreciate their hybrid model. As an Underwriter in the London office, I can work from home two days a week, which saves me a lot of commuting time. They're generally good about flexible hours too if you need to adjust your start or end time.
Cons: Sometimes it feels like you're still expected to be 'on' even on WFH days, with lots of pings. Team meetings can be crammed into our office days, making those pretty intense. There's not much room for fully remote positions in the underwriting department.
Advice to Management: Keep promoting the flexible working options and ensure team leads actually respect WFH boundaries. Maybe consider more fully remote roles for specific positions where it makes sense.

Pros: For an Underwriter, the work-life balance here is generally okay. We have a hybrid work model, which is a huge plus for personal appointments. Most days I'm done around 5:30 PM.
Cons: It's not all sunshine, though. During big insurance renewal periods, you're expected to put in a lot of extra hours. It can be hard to really unplug, especially in the London office, when deadlines hit.
Advice to Management: Try to staff up more during peak times to reduce burnout. It's tough on the London underwriting teams when everyone's scrambling.

Pros: The hybrid work model is great; I usually only had to be in the London office two days a week. The team I worked with as a Software Engineer was really supportive and the engineering culture among peers is solid. They do have decent benefits for a mid-sized company in the insurtech space.
Cons: Leadership often makes decisions without fully understanding the technical implications. It's frustrating when product timelines are unrealistic and there's little pushback from management. Career growth for individual contributors feels pretty stagnant sometimes.
Advice to Management: Listen more to your technical teams before committing to major projects. Invest in better career paths for all roles, especially for experienced Software Engineers, not just managers.
