Decent culture, but workload can be heavy
Pros: The team dynamic is really strong; everyone helps each other out. It's a supportive environment for engineers, and we get to work on cool space infrastructure projects. Good for learning about defense contracting.
Cons: Sometimes the workload for a Satellite Systems Engineer can get pretty heavy, impacting personal time. Also, being a mid-sized company, some internal processes aren't always super efficient.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project timelines better to prevent burnout, especially for engineering teams. Clearer communication on company-wide initiatives would also help.

Decent work-life balance for aerospace industry
Pros: You get some flexibility with hours, which is nice. For spacecraft engineers, it helps manage personal stuff when you're not on a critical path. The option for occasional WFH makes a difference.
Cons: When a big satellite development project is nearing a deadline, forget about 40-hour weeks. It's common to work 50-60 hours, especially if you're onsite at the Jacksonville office. It can be pretty draining.
Advice to Management: Try to distribute project loads better to prevent burnout for core teams. Consistently long hours aren't sustainable.

Career Growth Feels Slow in Jacksonville Office
Pros: It's cool to work on actual space infrastructure projects. You learn a lot about aerospace manufacturing processes. The benefits package is solid, especially the health insurance.
Cons: As an Aerospace Engineer, there's not a clear career path forward. Getting promoted is really tough, so it feels like you're stuck at your level for a long time. There aren't many opportunities for growth or new challenges in technical roles.
Advice to Management: Management should create more defined career ladders for technical roles, especially for engineers. More transparency around promotions and internal mobility would help retain talent.
