About The Role
The Staff Software Engineer - Machine Learning role at White Collar Factory offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and shape the company's AI and ML technical landscape. In this position, you will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for AI adoption across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enterprise platform capabilities. You will act as a technical leader, providing guidance on architecture, solution design, and best practices for ML/AI systems. Your expertise will drive innovation in MLOps, cloud-native architectures, and responsible AI practices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and low-latency AI solutions that directly impact customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external industry forums to maintain the company's competitive edge in AI technology.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in Python programming and ML engineering
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing ML/AI systems and architectures
- Proven track record of leading ML/AI initiatives across multiple teams
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn
- Familiarity with Gen AI/Agentic frameworks like LangGraph, LangChain, VectorDBs, and RAG
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, including guardrails, hallucination mitigation, and output quality management
- Experience in designing low-latency, customer-facing ML/AI architectures at scale
- Ability to set and communicate a multi-team ML/AI technical vision and strategy
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence without authority
- Knowledge of the full ML/AI development lifecycle, including model deployment, data pipelines, and Gen AI systems
- Experience leveraging enterprise platforms for scalable business use cases
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Active participation in technical forums, Communities of Practice, or industry discussions
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the ML/AI technical strategy and vision for UK use cases, influencing overall AI adoption and innovation
- Lead and coordinate ML engineering efforts across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and platform capabilities
- Provide expert technical consultancy to teams developing AI use cases, guiding architecture, design, and platform utilization
- Identify emerging ML/AI patterns, establish best practices, and promote reusable approaches for efficient delivery
- Drive MLOps standards, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment processes
- Collaborate with enterprise platform and data science teams to enhance platform capabilities and deliver scalable solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leadership, product owners, and external partners
- Represent the organization in external ML/AI forums and industry discussions to stay ahead of technological trends
- Manage technical debt proactively, ensuring sustainable and maintainable AI systems
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
